Violin: Lalgudi GJR Krishnan
Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi
Mrudangam: KV Prasad
Khanjira: KV Gopalakrishnan

Approximate Songlist:

01. kanakAngi (varNam) - thOdi - aTa
02. brOva samayAmithE (S) - gowrimanOhari - Adi
03. entha vEni (S) - Urmika - Adi
04. harihara putram (R, S) - vasantha - khanda Eka
05. aruL seiyya vEndumaiyyA (sketch) - rasikapriya - Adi
06. upachAramulanu chEka (R, brief N, S, T) - bhairavi - Adi
07. RTP - hamIrkalyAni - chatushra rUpakam (?) (mishra nadai) (athItha eduppu)
Pallavi: venkata ramana karunimpumu vEgamE vachi nannu brOvu
Trikalam + Ragamaliga swaras in Surutti and other ragas I don't remember/ didn't recognise
08. Thillana - kalyANa vasantham (LGJ; new composition apparently)

Again, too tired to write comments, but this was an expectedly good concert, with each krithi rendered thoroughly and beautifully. Special mention goes to the entire rasikapriya rendition, which was a class apart, and bhairavi rAgam by GJR which was very imaginative and had a moving passage in the mandra sthAyi, and also the vasantha was excellent. Percussion department was good and provided gentle but not placid accompaniment for a concert filled with sowkhyam.

Okay, the pallavi was announced as athItha eduppu, but I have no idea what this is. Can anybody clue me in, please? Thanks.

Thanks for all the great reviews bilahari! atIta eDuppu implies that the pallavi commenced before the beginning of the tALa cycle...

Thanks a lot, prashant and sramaswamy. I must apologise for being rather lazy and not searching the Laya section of the forum for the answer to my question! Now I have to go find the answer to a longtime question on what exactly is "kalai."
