A nice concert part of Maruti baktha sabha. Since it was hanumath jayanthi - there was huge crowd at temple and lot of noice outside too with police trying to regulate. The song selection was apt. Great to see kamas sung as main, it is not easy to do so. Trichi sankaran was his usual, and tani was enjoyable. Saw that NSG himself enjoyed thani, when audience was leaving during tani started - said he has to wait for 1 year to listen to this tani, and that nandigeshwara himself is playing! I could observe NSG telling jathis for korvai (not loudly though!!) and enjoying the tani

I was late and entered when NSG was singing swars in pantuvarali. It was a double delight , NSG's voice was in top form and Sri.Sankaran on mrudangam.
NSG sang with flourish. Kamas of late has been confined to padams and javalis but NSG gave the raga its due and the song was beautifully rendered. As NSG started kamas I couldn't help remembering the great tani of Sri Palani Subramania Pillai for GNB's brocheva and TS reeancted the same with a superb tani. The kanjira vidwan matched TS. Unfortunately I couldn't get his name as it was not announced and the notice borad didn't mention the accompaniments.
