the concert was really nice...

thillAna is in the rAgA "pUrNachandhrikA"

the inclusion of kaligiyuNtE in niraval (janaka venkatEsa manasu kaligiyuNtE) was awesome...

Once again, a lot of "veshamam" with the concert format - taanam for Enduku Dayaradura without alaapana, Vruttham in 3 ragas followed by swara-suffixed Intakannanandami, alaapana of Behag in the tukkada section....having said that, it was a very engaging concert with TMK's voice in great shape...the artiste was acknolwledged with a standing ovation at the end

Taanam in thodi for close 20 minutes was the highlight for me but I was not too happy with Sundareswaran's straight note patterns. However he essayed a nice Kiravani. Amba Neelayadakshi was very well sung.

hariharans,

Thank you for obligeing request. I never thought someone will take it seriously. Thanks again.
Varamulo sakhi is my fav. I remember TMK rendition in an album and I liked the keeravani after listening to this.
Samugana also is my fav and it is sung not so much nowadays. U Srinivas used to play this. And Musiri
subrammanya Iyer had an album with this song.

Chose to attend this concert last night and it turned out to be a good way to spend the evening. My better half who doesn't care two hoots about CM found TMK's music to be quite good overall with the exception of #2 & #4. Both were sedate and slow pieces and it did no good by her. However she was enthralled by the #1 swaras, the nereval for Kirvani & the Thodi Thanam (her reaction to VS @ Kalarasana was - beh!).

#1 - the swaras started of beautiful but the last elongated swaraprastara robbed the musicality, IMO.
#2 - did he do it for effect or just to soothe his overworked voice? It was rendered in a volume that was way below of the other pieces.
#4 - very good.
#6 - yay! i identified all the 3 ragas correctly :)

Looks like no one noticed (except Vijay) the thanam instead of ragam in the main song.
