SuryaprakAsh started with a very crisp sAveri and rounded up well with the patnam krithi . An excellent vasudevayani with sarvalaghu swaras gave a well heaved feeling that kalyAni is not a main .
What a beautiful aeroplane is AbhOgi-sabhApathi just like boeing 747 ? How beautiful it is when you cruise immediately within minutes into the "kripAnidhi ivaraippOla kiDaikkumO inda daraNi tanilE "
neraval skies , this was an outstanding rendition and the pick of the day.mOhanam was good to very good with evarUrA , I dont like this krithi that much :rolleyes: as a mOhana rAma somehow it does not give the truest mOhanam essence . If AbhOgi was the pick of the day , the second pick of the day was this rare swathi krithi , the vasantA swaras was one top class on spot maNodharmam.
Then it was a very different and slow moving bhairavi with a rare annaswami krithi , particularly the vidwan taking this number was excellent as it suited the mridangist to tap slowly with less sound and also the violinist who generallly excels more in slower moving krithis.Out of all the tukkadAs I liked the madurai arasAlum the most and the viruthtam uruttal in pachai mAl in brindAvana sArangA.
The violinist mullaivAsal was very good through out , particularly his slow moving play in bhairavi was the top pick. The mridangist did not overbang and did play with a lot of strokes ,the mOrsing artist had very good shruti sowkhyam.
Their tani was definitely little loud , I just noticed sAstri hall has an Airconditioning (I am going here after 3 months), with the doors closed and a fairly average sound system the mridanga vidwan was at a disadvantage spot to start with.
In short as a team it was a very good to excellent concert.
