I attended the concert It was very good. TNK was furious, because the volume of the sound system was very high, and he wanted the sound system to be switched off,if it could not be lowered. A welcome change from artists who insist on raising the decibel of the sound system After a brisk Nattaikurinji varnam followed by Evarani, He played a beautiful Saurashtram alapana and followed it up with krithi Ninnu joochi. This was followed by Varali alapana and Seshachalanayakam, and Sriranjani raga alapana and Marubalka. The main item was RTP in Saveri and after a scintillating RTP a sedate thani followed. The concert was concluded with a Tiurppavi each in Behag and Surutti. The Varali and Sriranjani krithis had their usual round of swaras and were played very well. It was a nice way to celebrate the New Year. The thani was played by Bhakathavatsalam and Vaikom. TNK was full of praise for Bhakata and vocally egged the audience to give him an ovation.BYe Ragjay
