Good Evening Rasikaa's!

I've joined this forum with a single minded agenda to express my love & reverence for this contemporary genious called Sanjay Subramaniam.

Yes. I was there yest at Music Academi & that's No.9 concert of Sanjay's alone this season i've attended so far.

No wonder, you will find me today at Raja anna malai manram to score No.10. All my plans of listening to other artists this season has gone for a toss jus because of this genius whom i'm talking about.

I'm not seasoned enough to review concerts but can understand the nuances of this great art as i'm pursuing the one that i've chosen to introduce myself as in this forum.

I'm 100% sure there would be many such awestruck fans like me in this forum since i've familiarised with many new faces repeatedly coming to SS's concerts.

As a newcomer into this forum & having cleared my stand for being here, this is an invite to everyone reading this to garland the brilliance of SS with your thoughts & feelings.

VARNAM, a mad fan of Sanjay, the genius!!!

Maybe this thread would be more appropriate in the Vidwans section? And varnam, my appreciation of Sanjay has grown exponentially in this last year. I might be in your league by next year!

Bilahari,

Thanks for the valuable suggestion.

This is my first ever blog types & it is the genius of sanjay that inspired me to do this. This is the first time i've ever visited this site too & my pick of kutcheri reviews was obvious because of its sheer viewership & the buzz around it.

I've posted the same in the appropriate head as suggested & welcome you to join this league.

As mentioned above, i've scored no.10 & for reviews Mr.Sastrigal seems to be heading the league.

cheers!!!

Varnam,
You have me a good idea to go behind Sanjay in a season.
I will try to do this next year. May be I will interleave with
TMK.

Harimau, you already drove one of those out of the forum and they're back stronger than ever as a clan! Don't start again!

Thanks Bilahari for your rescue act.

There are enough testimonials about Sanjay’s performances this season on this very forum. Just that they are part of the concert reviews. Mine; probably would sound like a fan club invite or a summary of all testimonials about SS this season. Whatever said it would be nice if Harimau could come up with a genuine feedback/ concern if any rather than just a knee jerk reaction!

I think Harimau is just being funny... We Sanjay groupies should take it easy! We can take on his sardonic ass-ault any day of the week :-)

Varnam,

Your post made me think about these great lines of Bharatiyaar.

PEIHAL AATSHI SEIDHAAL PINAM THINNUM CHAATHIRANGAL.

I really pity for you.U have listened to SS 10 times this season.Alas! In Kaliyuga all values will deteriorate slowly as written by our upnishads. How can CM alone can be spared then ?

U don't have to call for people to join this forum. They will come in scores. That is kaliyugam.

In spite of all these the pristine CM will survive,I am sure.

ganeshkant, that is uncharacteristically harsh towards our fellow member as well as the artist, don't you think?

This comment is very negative.
I always believe the artist will mature in singing with years. May be they may not be as aggressive as they used to be in their younger days.
Many of my likings are of artists like SSI, MMI , MLV and MSS after they crossed their 50s.

Dear Varnam,

I just tested whether U are really serious.I treat everybody as friend and not otherwise.

SS sang nicely @ PSS.I was awestruck during his swara singing for Anudhinamu-Begada.

His Kalyani was v.v good the likes of which I 've heard only in violin/nadhaswaram.

See...my dear, lets be rasikas with open heart and not just some fanatics like the ones who open rasikar mandrams for some cheap actors. Is not the art form of CM divine and we should have certain standards even for appreciating it ?

I would be glad if U take this in the right perspective.

Friendly yours

Ganeshkant

If I say bEsh to that dESh,
Others out there will bash
The concert and hash it
Just for the sake of it
In place of a SabhAsh

How many kinds make a sabhA!
Some rave, others nod happily,
Some couch their praises in
Under-handed compliments
Others just spout negative
Words just for the sake of it

World is a stage, where
rasikAs act out their ????

And I dedicate this to all
The musicians who deal
With it all the time--

NSG would define such a thing
As 'from dvaitA to advaitA' :)

Assuming NSG refers to Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan and with reference to advaita, the following may be an interesting link:

P.S Will it be possible to have a post of all abbreviations (used for artistes and other purposes) used in the forum so that it helps new members like me

Yes, I am quoting Neyveli here.
If you go to Vidwans and Vidushis Section, you will get familiar with the abbreviations of musicians' names. From the Vaggeyakaras Section and Sahitya Section, those of the composers...

As for the members, CML is CMLOVER, Cool is Coolkarni, VK is Vasanthakokilam and if you post frequently, someone may shorten your name to Prep, though you chose a fashionable word of the day when you joined!
