Of the 15 , almost 7 are no longer very active in the forum. This is the loss I had mentioned in another thread. Hope they come back to the forum with renewed vigour
It is nice to know that Ravi and Arasi are the top two contributors in the forum
And surprised that CML, VK & Coolji are not there in the top 15
I do miss VGV's contribution a lot especially on Thyagaraja. He did make a comeback of sorts after a showdown with a "Rasik", but has since faded away.
Maybe KJI or any other forumite could persuade him to comeback ?

Actually the very first to register on this site when Chembai (srkris) started it!
And don't forget our respected Lakshman

These statistics are after the holocast when the site collapsed in 2005.
But we should all congratulate Shankar, VK and Arasi for their sustained contributions!
No wonder! I was surprised that CML and VK were not listed!
By the way, the number of posts (at least in my case) does not mean quality and rich content
I score as a gabber. Lakshman, the silent sort provides lyrics like 'hanumAn' fetching the sanjIvi parvatam.

Men/women may come and men/women may go
But some of us (die-hards) do go on for ever
(but some do go and come back again and again (to our delight)
(with apologies to Alfred Tennyson)
when i opened this in my system and looked at the time of posting,
avanga ippadi thaan kAt"wrong"a... (then i am caught - wrong-A)

thanks for details....
Erode,
YOu have sorted with the filter "members" and that is why you got this, cml, lji and vk are coming in as "moderators" . I am sure it is more appropriate to sort with "all users" , then you get the list that I posted above.
"neenga wrong"a drop down choose punnittu , sila pera push up paNNitenga sir? BTW , your sense of humour simply wrongckss

I am not a prolific poster like the top 15, but I'd like to say a word of thanks to all those nice folks who have made this community such a pleasure to be a part of.
I joined last year and have made a few posts, but I'm usually satisfied with reading your opinions. I must say the perspectives here are very mature and refined, and, by inference, so are the minds of the people who post here. From grave topics to rambunctious disagreements to brilliant flashes of humour, I've enjoyed it all!
Truly, this is a gathering of some very cultured people. I'm very grateful to you all. I hope to meet some of you in person.

Coolji, if there was a "top of mind" list, I am sure you would top the list comfortably. You sure have something to defend yourself with at home! As for my "dubious distinction", I guess there could be worse addictions than talking about music...
Finding customers, perhaps, would be a healthier one...but so much has changed in the last week that I tremble everytime I have to pull my visiting card out I am sure those who know me would understand and empathize! As things stand, I am betting that my rank will improve in the next couple of months!
Vijay you have an accounting error
The top fifteen includes you too!
Hence if you include in those you have met it works out to 11. It is 11/15
(unless you never use a mirror for shaving
vijay meeting vijay would have hap'pen'ed (happily p'en'ned) , most probably, if he would have been in the film industry. often facing questions like, "nadigar kamalai patri, director kamal-aa, neenga enna solreenga?" (director kamal, what is your opinion about actor kamal hasan?)
dear, cml.. i think vijay uses a razor for shaving.... or may be he would have realised it if he has an account in ICICI...

I didn't get the ICICI joke Maybe the Tube is weak or am missing something by being abroad
Vijay
Are you growing the beard to get hooked? I haven't heard the good news yet though the wait is taking too long! Should I start yet another 'shringaara lahari..'
CML, my beard has been coming on and off every 2-3 weeks for the last 5 years without making any substantial impact on the subject of your concern! As for the Shringara Lahiri - I request that your efforts be directed towards other, more eligible, members of this forum - and there are quite a few!! BTW ICICI = "I See" and Mirror...hopefully it is "clear" now!
Arasi thanks for your concern. BTW I did not notice Jayaram's post on this thread...
Ramakriya - would be great to meet - I hope in and out of the city and there is a good chance I will be there sometime during those 2 months. Please do remind me closer to your visit...

I can't stop laughing at the rAja rAja vara rAjIvAkSa nIvu thing from the other thread (poor tyAgarAjasvAmi). Somebody is now describing it on the forum. LOL
Great stats. I also joined this forum last year. Keep reading the posts. Real great people you all. My humble pranams to one and all of you. I sometime could not beleive that a commoner like me reading posts of CoolJi, VarmaJi, great mrindangam artists and innumerable talented individuals whom I do not know. Thanks.......
The poor but pompous 'SrinivasaGopala' Bhagavatar went to MA and asked the secretary: naan eppaDi SK aakiRathu? (How can I bcome an SK (Sangita Kalanidhi)
The secretary replied with a wink: pEshaama peyarai Srinivasa Krishna Bhagavathar ennu maatthikku^NgO!
ellaarum SK bhAgavathar ennu kooppiDuvA ..(Just change your name to Srinivasa Krishna Bhagavatar! Then everybody will call you SK bhAgavatar)
Moral: There is an easy way and a hard way to get to the Top of the Forum: like what I am doing by cracking jokes and light banter and that of Shankar or Lakshman!
Ragam-talam
I know you 'hate' me so much! But I don't know why
But you keep posting vigorously and you will be at the top since willy-nilly I will drop out one of these days
What an utterly meaningless exercise! It is like the number of publications by a scientist. Utterly futile metric. More than half the discussions on this forum are back-scratches and have nothing to do with music or music appreciation. Look at this thread itself! One person scratching another's back. The other saying how soothing it was. Another saying that (s)he would like a back-scratch too. One of the earlier posters then jumping in to provide it. Ugghhh! Meanwhile the post-count meter keeps ticking!
Pray, what are the "meaningful exercises" in this universe, given that the sun will stop shining in 4 billion years ?
At the very least you must grant that harmless and inconsequential online banter is more desirable than actions that have a Karmic price ?
If you participate in the forum more often maybe you'll discover that there are some really fun folks here and perhaps you may participate in the banter too. Lighten up and enjoy.
Back scratching? We call it MAS--Mutual Admiration Society. Folks here possess quite a bit of knowledge. Oh, no! I am not going by the number of posts. If you look through the threads carefully, you will find that those valuable members on this forum--our educators and the rest of us also have a bond, however different we are from each other. It is born out of our being together on the forum for a long time. I may be a student here, but the bonhomie you find here is also based on mutual respect. True, we kid around, even the students, because we are not taking any exams by reading the posts by those experts in several fields. We are not here just for socializing either. Our love for music binds us. We are friends here. Not monitors or teachers dealing out corporate punishment. Anyway, kidding around is better than negative criticism, don't you think? I want to add that the number of posts means nothing. It is like a 'how many pies (vaDais) you can eat' contest. What is the big deal?

Or, as a friend of mine used to say: my karma just ran over your dogma
