Great pongal package from Vijay Siva and co (saha Sishya, guru putra), it seems. His bhajana SeyavE is one of the kalyAnis I love to hear. Would have loved to have heard his 'nI daya' too...

Looking at the song list, I miss DKJ :(. It might have been birAna varAlichi instead of bhajana sEyavE in DKJ's list.

arasi,
In 2000, Sri KVN sang a cameo concert (abt 1:45 hrs) at the MA, he sang this bhajana sEyavE in kalyANi with a short alapana and quick fire swaras iyengAr style. Since then I haven't heard a satisfying rendering yet (that includes my collection too). :( I think Vijay Siva would have done justice to the song and raga.

Bhajana Seyave is a nice krithi that is rarely sung nowadays.

There is a superb rendition of this krithi by MD Ramanathan that is available in the net.

There is also an rendition of this krithi by Alathur Srinivasa Iyer that I have heard.

Natimata marachidivo and Nannu Vidachi are DKJ specials.
