The afternoon began with a 30 minute lecture on the art of appreciating a Tani Avartanam by Vinod Venkataraman. The lecture was succinct and very educational. Every thing he discussed in his lecture he developed in his Tani Avartanam.
Aishwarya's violin had a sowkyam that showed immense maturity and growth. Her Saramati ragam and kirtanam Mokshamu galada was very moving. The hamsadwani kirtanam Manasuka rugha, I am hearing for the first time. Todi Ragam Tanam Pallavi was awesome. Special mention on the tanam. She moved through all the ragams elaborately and completed the tanam playing the ragams in reverse order.
The concert felt like it had a lot of sowkyam in the pre RTP half and brisk rendition of the kritis post RTP. The concert and the lecture was well over three and a half hours. A very enjoyable evening and a bright future ahead for Aishwarya.
