I am not aware (ariyEnE) of having forgotten (maRandirundu) your (undan/unRan) fame/glory (pugazh) for even one (oru) second (kaNamum), even in my dreams (kanavilum). However, I do not feel even a small portion (siRidum) of your (unRan/undan) compassion (karuNai) come my way (varavilaiyE)! My (enRan/endan) distress (tuyar) has not ceased (ozhiyavillaiyE) for even a bit (siRidum)! Oh Lord (iRaianE) who resides in tiruppanarankunRam brilliantly (migu) lit (oli) by the vEdAs (arumaRai) [1].

[1] arumaRai is the way the vEdAs are described in ancient tamizh texts - the 'formless sacred texts' - probably because of the fact that these were oral traditions, and not written down until much later. Being lit/illuminated by the vEdas may refer to the fact that muruga is also considered to be the essence of the vEdAs.

Though Ravi has corrected the words in his translation, please correct them in your request too. Sometimes, those who search for the sAhityam alone might not read the meaning which comes after to get the words right.
