Malladi Brothers
Lakshmi Narayan Raju- Mridangam
Embar KaNNan - Violin
T.V.Vasan

A perfect Sunday Evening with Kanada VarNam as the beginning and a scintillating Bairavi RTP by this duo

Ninnu kori- Kannada

E pani ko -Asaveri- Thyagaraja (R S)

RarA PaNi Sayana Ravi Jaladhija Nayana-Harikamboji- (R S)-Thyagaraja

Manasa guruguha-Rupakam-Ananda Bhairavi- MD (S)

Sivakameshwarim-Adi-KalyaNi- MD (S)

Bhairavi-RTP- Pallavi- **Devi Tripurasundri Gaanavinodhini Paahi**

Also in Balhamsa, Yagapriya, Sudha Sarang, Bahudari,, (They announced the name..)

Kumaran Taal-Yadukulakambodhi-Adi- PS
KaNdena Govindana- Maand-Puradaradasar
kandarpa janaka garu|Dagamana nanda gOpAtmaja-Kalavati- Annamacarya
sAramaina mATalentO cAlu cAlurA-Behag-Swati tirunal
Ati mrudu- Surutti-Mangalam

Best of the concert- It is the Harikambodhi and Rara paNi and RTP

Accompaniments- Embaar was outstanding in all, especially in his Bairavi. Tani was also good with TV Vasan.

Anything to Criticise- Neraval in any one of the kritis should have added some more glory to the concert. No complaiants.
Though Bhairavi as RTP, main raga was missing. I expected one main with a new kriti (like 2 months back they reneded Rama Baana Traana in Saveri)

Other points- Good to see TV Vasan enjoying the concert and :Bale, besh, sabhash: in between. Good Sunday crowd. A satisfying concert.

Rara PaNi sayea, while googling, I got this
"This krithi set in panchama eduppu and Roopaka TaaLam is a prayer to the Lord to appear before ThyagarAja accompanied by SitA PirAtti , His brothers , HanUmAn and other BhakthAs . This krithis is a beautiful NaamArchani for Sri Raamachandran . Let me refer to some of these ThirunAmams that the Sadhguru uses to perform his archanai to invoke RaamA's appearance :
PaNi SayaNA = the Lord resting in Milky Ocean on Adhi Seshan Ravi Jaladhija nayanA = One having the Sun & the Moon as His eyes RaagA sasivadhanaa=One with the face resembling the full Moon RamaNIyA =the One of incomparable /delectable beauty Apaghana= the One , who destroys all sins Abhja SucharaNa=one with the lotus soft feet asama soora = The Raghuveeran of unmatched valor

Here is the rendition of Rara"¦

Punarvasu- I don't understand what you mean by that ?
rajeshnat- Thanks. I changed mine. This song resembled me of "Govinda ninna" usualy sung by Mah. Santanam.

Another point I noticed was about T V Vasan. I think the upa-pakkavadhyams are not exploited fully. Most of the time TVV was sitting idle or occassional "beat". Only in tani he showed his "class".

I had the experience in TNS concert also at Brahma Gana Sabha (held in Dec at Bheema sena garden) where TK Murthy and TVV were accompaniments. Ditto. (Saroja Ramanujam can confirm this ...)

grs, Brahma gana sabha conducts fesstival at sivakami petachi auditorium of MCTM school, did u mean Parthasarathy swami sabha? they only conduct at Bheemasena garden.

Even i dnt understand what punarvasu meant by rakasasivadhana

rara panisayana and raka sasivadhana are different songs the former is harikamboji and latter is Dakkha.
