It was yet another concert by Sanjay where he was at his best. The concert started at 615 and went upto 930pm when I left.
But the list is not complete. I liked Sanjay's Todi alapana, Kamboji alapana and the entire RTP part though I felt pallavi was
relatively shorter. His swarams in kamboji were really great.
And the varali swara entry (ragamalika swarams) , Sindhubairavi swarams and the entry in to song were all mei silirkum tharunam.
Sanjay's kamboji was very grand and not easy to compare to his season MA kamboji. I hope one day Sanjay will sing Meenakshi
memudam in Blore. MNagaraj delivered a very nice alapana for purvikalyani.
TNS had his concert yesterday here. He came in to Sanjay concert at the starting (almost) of the main item and sat through
RTP (Ist row). Though it was a ticketed concert , it was a full hall. Unusual to the blore standard , a group of people started leaving
the concert just when thani started and Sri M raja Rao didnot like it and he almost slowed the laya.

Interesting... Prasanna Venkatraman also sang 'Kayarohanesam' yesterday at his concert at Ragha Sudha Hall. Probably at about the same time. Someone who attended the full concert could post the complete items. I was there for "Chittam Irangadha-Sahana", "Mundu Venuka-Darbar", "Kayarohanesam-Devagandhahram" and alapana of Mohanam.

The mrudangam artiste is Srimushnam Raja Rao. It is not Sri Mushnam. Srimushnam the name of a place in Cuddalore District. For more details about this place see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srimushnam

Yes indeed. The change over to Varali was breathtaking (literally!), when Sanjay stayed clearly on the nishadham for 30 seconds before beautifully moving to the (thara) Shadjamam. A moment to cherish.

Interesting to read the link. It also says no other hindu god is allowed in the village. Surprising! How in this
new world of Iyappan, Murugan and amman, this is possible?

It is as surprising as it is to hear that the deity is revered and is offered sweets at the mosque, to this day. Such happenings restore our hopes in harmonious coexistence. In such an instance, tradition plays a positive part. The other one is tradition too, I guess. How did it come about, I wonder...
