Short powercuts in between the concert, especially during the initial stages.
Plus looked to be a small misunderstanding between the sisters, when both of them abruptly paused inbetween especially during the DarbAr kriti. We could see a grim on the usually smiling face of Smt.Gayatri. The thani was very good, and those who were a part of the Thani exodus missed the wonderful RTP. In my opinion, I felt Smt. Nalina was struggling a bit throughout the concert.

I personally felt that the concert was similar to a one day international cricket match, involving the Indian team. From an initial score of say 10 for 3 to 350 for 3.

PS: The last time that I heard Shubapanthuvarali RTP was the one sung by Sanjay at Bharath Kalachar in 2007 and when I got back home I heard the news of Benazir's assassination!! This time I was literally praying that there be no aftermaths of SPVarali RTP!!!

Surely, you are not going to start a new musical superstition

that shubha pantuvarALi RTPs lead to ashubha (unhappy) tidings! By the way, that RTP of Sanjay in 2007 was impressive.
Ahiri, varALi, and we don't need to add Subha pantuvarALi to the list!

You may be correct. But not so bad and a delayed effect the next day . ie we lost the one day match and became No 3 from no 2
and the aussies became No 1 again.

I was carried away by the performance in the previous 4 matches.

SPVarali has taken its toll on the Indian team!!

Arasi madam,
Not too superstitious about SPVarali...May be the way the violinist was struggling negated the effect of SPVarali.. whereas in the case of Sanjay's SPVarali, it was Mysore Nagaraj and he was excellent in his replies..

While Nagai played the rAgAs with aplomb, the SPV did not stand out. And yes, Nagaraj's response matched the rAgA rendering at Bharat KAlachar. Go back another year or two? Sanjay sang a great RTP in gAnamurty. M.A.Sundaresan's response was very pleasing.He worked on it to deliver his best and it seemed almost as if he was out of the gym after a workout!

The power cuts were certainly a nuisance. Anyway I had to leave early because of other commitments - heard strains of Shubha Pantuvarali just as I was exiting...such a pity!

Ranjani Gayathri concerts are not uploaded to sangeethapriya/sangeethamshare as per objections received from the artists
