It was after 15 months that Sudha Amma was here[Well... i call her Sudha Amma because she deserves that respect..]She gave a full length amazing recital. For the first time in hyderabad did i see so much of crowd for a concert. The entire hall was jam packed and many were standing and listening and many were sitting on the floor. It was simply splendid concert. She did full justice for those three hours. She was like simply amazing..! She was accompanied on the violin by Sri Raghavendra Rao, on mridangam by Sri Patri Satish Kumar,on ghatam by Sri Nemani Somayajulu and on moharsing by Sri Raman

Most of the songs Sudha Amma sang were on the repeated requests from the audience. she obliged to most of them which shows her love for the rasikas. She bagan with Viriboni varnam which was a perfect start and rendered it in two speeds. She then sang the Hamsadwani composition with a beautiful swarakalpana which was extremely wonderful..!! She then sang the song which was simply amazing "Mudhu momu" and the sangathis were like heaven. she then rendered the evergreen tamil krithi in varali, Ka va va and when it comes to mention something special its her amazing swarakalpana at the line "Pazhani malai urayum muruga va". She did the kalpana swarams in tisram. They were just amazing. The next song was Atana which was extremely "gambheeram" She just sang the song in an excellent way. Then came the piece in Vachaspathi. This song lasted for a longer time than the main piece. The swarakalpana to this song was something which one a boisterous applause. Sri Raghavendra Rao was at his best again. She then went for Alaipayuthey kanna on the request of audience. She then sang "Om namo narayana" again on the request of audience. And there was a power cut.. But the audience remained extremely silent and the song was clearly heard despite the power failure. Then she once again got a request. Then she spoke in pure telugu to the people's amazement saying that "Inni requests isthey meeru repu breakfast time ki intiki vellaal :D :D " [If you give me so many requests you will reach home by breakfast time tomorrow] there was a roaring laughter in the gallery. She then said due to the time being on the higher side she shall sing the main piece Madhyamavathy. The alapana was simply mesmerizing... She just played with the soul. She rendered the famous krithi Nadupai palikeru. the thaniavarthanam with three instruments was simply amazing. It was mind blowing. Sri Patri Satish Kumar was at his best. Sree Nemani Somayajulu is known to the rasikas of hyderabad since ages and he was really good. And fans of Sudha Amma are always familiar to the way in which Sri Raman plays. It was amazing thaniavarthanam. the post main item were again requests from audience. She rendered all of them in her best way. She was completey surrounded by the fans of hers who were dying to catch a glimpse of her and to talk to her. She still managed to talk to most of them. She is one of the most down-to-earth human beings i have seen[ My personal opinion, I wish i get no counter statements against my feelings.] On the whole it was an amazing concert.

Nadupai for main - interesting! We were just talking about Sanjay's choice in the Bangalore concert - I guess my views here would be pretty much the same...

On nadupai in madhyamavathi - did she sing neraval and swaram at different places of sahitya? How long was tani? A misra jampai tani with 3 percussion instruments needs more time??

Hari I have only heard Nadupai in Khanda Chapu...while I am aware that this is also a cycle of five, Misra Jhampa seems a huge stretch! Is there a vilamba kala version or a different song by the same name (as in Upacharamu in Bhairavi)...I have heard TVR sing this krithi with Ragam and Swaras but it was, as far as I can recall, in Khanda Chapu

Yeah the talam was misra jampai i guess.. Yeah thani went for around 16 minutes.
the neraval was at "Ajanubaahuyuga Sree janaki" Swarakalpana was first done at the same line but later she sang at Payojaksha
