A very good concert presented by Carnatica Brothers accompanied by Sri Guruvayur Dorai, Sri Nagai Muralidaran and Sri S.V.Ramani on Mridangam, Violin and Ghatam !

Andolika Varnam of G.N.B is one composition that will brighten up a Kucheri to a great extent...and so did it in the concert of Shashikiran and Ganesh ! The Brisk Varnam and the swarams for the Lathangi krithi gave a good start to the Kucheri.

Shashikiran's Hamsanandi ragam was very pleasant and as expected Paavanaguru came up !

Raaga alapanai of Natakurinji was done by Ganesh followed by Ekkalathilum...

The main piece for the evening was a Pallavi in Sree Ragam.."Endaro Mahaanubhaavulu Andariki Vandanamu" in the 5 Ganaragas (Ragamalika Swarams)

The korvai was very interesting wrapping up all the 5 ragams...showed the brothers' immense skill and expertise in Music !

Nagai Muralidaran gave excellent support ... Guruvayur Dorai and Ramani accompanied them diligently !

There were a couple of melodious thukkadas and the Brothers wound up the Kucheri with a Dashavathara Mangalam !

A lovely concert indeed !

ragam. RTP were really great. Hope to hear a lot of their music.

latha,
Are you sure the song is in basant. I am assuming this song could be Azhagiya Mayilinil in the rAgam Ananda

This song is composed by Sri. Madurai Somu in rag ' Aanandam ' and the raga mudra also appears in the 2nd line of the lyrics. Please see my postings in the ragas forum. Ofcourse, this raga has some resemblances to rag Basant.
