Srngaaram kshiti nandinee viharaNe-Srngaara rasam was exhibited when Rama played (leelai)with the daughter of bhoomi

veeram dhanur bhanjane-veera rasam when he broke the shiva dhanus(bow)

kaaruNyam balibhojane-kaaruNya rasam,to kaakaasuran

adbhuta rasam sindau giri sthapane-adbhuta rasam when the bridge was constructed on the ocean(to cross the ocean and reach Lanka)

haasyam surpaNakha mukhe-haasya rasam was the disfigured face of surpaNakha

bhayam aghe-bhayam in doing sinful activities

bibhatsam anyaa mukhe-bibhatsam was when looking at the faces of other strees(Rama was eka patni vratan)

roudram ravaNa mardane-roudram in killing ravaNa

muni jane Santam -Santam to the ascetics of the forest

vapu:-the person who exhibited these 9 rasas

paatu na:-may protect us.

Very nice Shloka. Just curious, where is this shloka from? Interesting to see bhayam in describing Rama.....I could never imagine bhayam in Rama, no matter how human he was in teh Rama avatara.

i don't know where this sloka is from.have heard the great MDR rendering it.
Rama lived the life of a man and showed how one should live as a human being.in that context,bhayam to commit sinful deeds.
