Like the one i know to listen Hyderabad FM radios online www.voicevibes.net

I spent much time in google to get this done, found one clue is to downlaod FMradio.exe along with text files..but it did not worked for me.

If someone helps me that will be great..

Thanks and reg

Worldspace is not available online now. You can try other sources to listen to Carnatic music. http://www.carnaticcorner.com/downloads.html has a list of sites, some of which have music for download or stream

It appears that WorldSpace is coming back !
See
http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/a ... 212042.ece

"For avid listeners of WorldSpace that went off the air in India two years ago, good news is round the corner. It will be back “very soon” with the same content and style. This was confirmed by M. Sebastian, chief executive officer of Timbre Media who will rebroadcast it, and Adarsh Gupta, Business Head of Sa Re Ga Ma India who will be responsible for its distribution and funding."

Hi

If you miss Shruti

RadioWeb Carnatic is Live - from the people at Radio Shruti on WorldSpace

RadioWeb Carnatic is a new attempt at reaching Carnatic music to listeners through the web, so there are no geographical restrictions. The service combines the feel of radio with the ease of on-demand listening, where you can browse through a long list of Carnatic music programmes to listen to. Yes, these are prepared programmes, features and interviews where the songs are thematically presented and RJs take you through the programme giving you information about the song and the theme.

RadioWeb Carnatic also gives you the advantage of high quality audio and programmes that you can access and listen to at your convenience. You can try RadioWeb Carnatic completely for a week; beyond that, you can subscribe through a variety of attractive subscription packages.

Give RadioWeb a try at http://www.radioweb.in.

Nice website, professionally done.

But free online radio stations are available. Something like shrutiradio.com offers 4 non stop channels covering vocal, instrumental under Carnatic and Hindustani.

So how many will go for this paid service is not known.

Thank you for your comments.
I think it is good point for discussion. There are a lot of free resources to play out carnatic music.
The question would be whether there is value for rasikas , in the way radioweb presents content and the the better quality (hopefully) of the service , for whch they would be willing a pay a reasonable amount?
Would really like to hear your thoughts and of other rasikas

I don't think what you bring to the table can be directly compared to the free streaming stations. On the other hand, Charsur's CTunesFM (which is a paid service) goes up directly against these free streaming services and, therefore, is in for tough times (in my opinion).

To me, there is no doubt that the carefully researched and choreographed content that Radioweb presents brings value of a different kind than what the streaming stations offer. Just streaming music from a large music database certainly has value (you get to listen to tons of good music for free, so yes, I'll take it gladly!), but is rather mundane in that a software program basically does all the work. These streaming stations really target a different point in the solution space from what you guys are doing.

My cousin was an RJ with you guys back at Worldspace Shruti and my conversations with her helped me gain a good appreciation of the amount of research and preparation that goes into your programs (needless to say, I used to enjoy listening to her anecdotes from interviews with musicians as well!).

So, I guess what I am trying to say, in a verbose and roundabout way, is just "keep up the good work!" :)

Thanks for your appreciation and wishes !
Your viewpoint of the value that various services provide definitely demonstates insight.

This has started me thinking of why people make the choices they make accross the various offerings available. I am starting a new thread to start a conversation around this , and would like your thoughts as the conversation develops.
