Is there any online site other than musicindia online and raaga where i could listen to music.Musicindia online does not update its carnatic vocal at all.it only does the various film music.
Is there anyone we could write to who can update the site with new songs when new cassettes/cds get released?
thanks

Ramya, please do try www.sangeethapriya.org
It's THE hub for carnatic music online! However, they're having server issues right now so bear with them and try accessing the site in a few days.

MUSIC LINKS NAGESH,
I have just joined as a member in the Rasikas Org Forum yesterday ( 05-03-2009) . Even though I have been going through the very interesting topics being discussed in the various threads for a long time, only now I have joined as a member.
I have very nice friends in the forum ( Mr . Coolji , friend for more than 20 years ), Arasi etc.
Any guess about " MUSIC LINKS "
MUSIC LINKS NAGESH.

koyaliya - welcome - your screen name conjures up images of the sweet singing of the cuckoo (kOyal madhurE sAj), the voice of thunder (mEghA bOlE) joining in, clouds bursting (barsE badariyA) and the whole scene illuminated by lightining that's overcome its shyness (dAmini chODE lAj) - all to herald the advent of krishNa!!! (from 2:09 to 2:22 of this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHgiv0-H224 will explain why
)

thank you rshankar!
one of the pictures in that video is the cover of a dog-eared, 'well-read,' amar chitra katha that was my first exposure to meerabai.
and that song, indeed, along with my sweet little 9-month-old niece who now looks to the laptop and immediately begins to sing, were the inspiration for my handle.
thank you all for the warm welcome.

Hello everybody!
I am Karthik. I am a music lover and a student of carnatic violin.. I learnt violin and vocal in Mumbai, I continued my music lessons in Melbourne, Australia where I have been since the last one year. I also perform as accompanists for concerts. The music scene in Melbourne is fantastic and you feel you are in Chennai at times..

Hello,
I am garavasimhala, a new member. Although I have been reading the posts in this forum for quite a long time(around 1 year or so), I am participating only now. I am not entirely new but I am still a bit uncomfortable with the controls/clicks. It would be nice if somebody could tell me how to add a smiley.
Thanks!

Hello Everybody,
Namaskar!!! I am new to this forum. Just wanted to say 'Hi' to everybody. I don't know is this correct forum to post this, if it's not, sorry about that.
I am "Bharatnatyam Visharad" and loves dancing. But I didn't get chance to continue with my dance since last 5-6 years. I got married and have kid and now I am considering coming back in the field. Meanwhile I didn't do anything so would like to brush up little. So trying to learn/practice things again. Just didn't have much luck with Tala and composing korvais.
Can somebody help me with that? I am hoping to get back on track and would love to continue with my dream of being on stage again
Thank you for reading this.
Mansi
