Madurai G. S. Mani was the trailblazer, and this seems to be the next step.

Good find Ravi.
Many of you know about NumTV. You can buy 8 hour access to their broadband service for $2. They archive their programs for two weeks. So, once in a while, pay $2 and get your favoruite programs including this, from their archive. Recording it is a bit of work, you need a Video out card on the PC which you can then connect to a VCR or DVD recorder. This is an old style way of recording, but it works. Quality is not as good as recording it off of cable TV in India but adequate.
If any of you know how to capture the streaming video straight to hard disk (without a video out card), please post: What tools to use, what the procedure is etc. ( This is all for private and fair use, similar to recording tv programs ).

VK,
I am using Pinacle PCTV Stereo Card on my PC, which enables me to:
1.Watch all TV programs live on my PC.
2.Record live TV programs in their inbuilt VCR.
3.Save the recorded program in .mpeg format in my PC in appropriate folders.
4.Schedule a recording at a particular time when you are out of your home, so that you do not have to miss important programs.
5.Capture snapshot pictures from the TV images on your screen and save the pictures to your harddisk.
6.Burn the recorded programs to a video/dvd disk by using a DVD burner.
7.Time shifting feature lets you pause or replay while recording a live show.
8.It comes with a remote control which operates like a TV remote.
I have found this tool very satisfactory.
