Rajana, fellow-member and of the native soil too, and Jeyshri J who is a dear fellow member!
I heard from a young rasikA that the concert was enjoyable and he spoke about Rajana's playing too. I did ask about J, and he said that she played very well but the sound wasn't adequate in her case.
Anyway, these very talented women musicians are making us proud as they tour around the country.

The highlight of this concert was the sankarabaranam rendition by Smt Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi . It is a moving experience every time , all the time to listen to such a fantastic , expressive rendition of a ragam , as in this case. This by itself elevated the concert many levels . Kurai onrum illai is always a crowds favourite and bhagyada lakshmi played at the fast pace it was , was thouroughly enjoybale . A thillana by Shri Jayaraman i have come to conclude needs the the lalgdui siblings to give it its full glory . As a team they rendered this well , reflecting good coordination . Overall a terrific concert ... It is not a surprise that as the concert ended , the most heard expression was Awesome ...
