Sri Melakauveri Kannan, a vocalist and a music teacher passed away on 21.04.2009.
He resides in West Mambalam.
He was a Purandara dasar devotee and an expert in singing Purandara dasar krithis. He used to arrange concerts every month on the Bagula Panchami day in West Mambalam or T.Nagar.
Many artists used to sing Various Purandara Dasar krithis in the concerts arranged by him.
Sri K.Ramakrishnan, Mridangist is his son.
My daughter and my second son learnt Carnatic music from him.
My heart felt condolences to the family members.
May His soul rest in peace.
S.NAGESWARAN.
