Enjoy! Its hard to tell this from my angle as I know all the answers but I dont know generally people attack these, but this one may be easier (or atleast may have more easy clues)

4 down
did Piggy actually take a ride? she didn't. How could you miss that one ?
But, the second part of the clue is very important too!

12 across
I say turn around, and hand the money somehow upfront (who cares about shady organizations :) )

8 down
This is one where the answer is staring at you

1 down
Hang in, the answer is partly there

I hope I didn't make it more cryptic ....

Suji, I loved your clues! You are turning out to be another Arun already! :)

15 across - somewhat like 14 down?

Whereas Arun isn't turning to be a Suji. Is he playing the violin nowadays? You never know, given his gifts...

14 and 15 across?

Yes divine face or tongue, they sound alike :).
I hope I am right. I cannot read the cryptic mind of Arun completely sometimes

12- i turned ascetic and got this one !
1 - was heavily discussed in the forum. so got that too :)

Still working on 4 and 8. I am banking on vajrayudham for 8 ;)

Thanks Suji for the clues. sometimes making it complicated works. so dont worry about making it more cryptic :)

no, 6 and 8 are the ones where the answers are staring at you from the clues.

2 down-ya, somewhat if you are on this forum while solving it. I'm sure everyone got that !!

arunk,
I prefer you to give one day notice before you publish answers. . That way i can try till the last minute and submit the answer paper as a spam email to you. Today covered lot of answers , looks like I am bowled again on the off stump(left hand side). Give atleast till this weekend.

Suji
Looks like you are a genius , you have solved everything. I have to admit that I used one of your clue to solve quite a bit. That ms piggy is making me look like Mr daisy.

All,
I goofed up one answer in the right side , unfortunately wrote the answer in pen in the crossword , had to strike that and write and solving few of them is a nightmare. With just one print out and my lousy handwriting , I think I will get all except ms piggy.

I will have to wait for answers to see if I got all correct. I am assuming the piggy answer is correct. Did anyone else get it ? I can give another clue if you want.

I think I got them all right. This one had a few tricky bits in it. Arun is getting better at this game!

A clue of sorts for Ms Piggy: Bharat Mata ki jai!

Sorry - I have not been keep track of this for a few days as I have been sort of busy at work.

I will post the answers tomorrow (Sunday for me).

Its possible that next puzzle may have to wait as I have to head out of town

BTW, I believe that a part of clue #4 is technically wrong (albeit perhaps not horribly wrong) but I think suji still got it (per post #4 - her clue in post #18 is too cryptic for me :) )

Arun
Yes Arun, ms piggy was not that difficult, infact one has to get used to spell the same answers in two possible ways, then with the end in mind you will get it. Give time till your sunday evening , my monday morning (IST).

With respect to 15 across it is bit of guess work as I think divine tongue of 15 has the same answer to praise of vishnu in 14 across.

5 an 11 across is tough for me, somehow I feel 11 across is not that difficult despite being sure of 3 alphabets. I think I am heading for possible completion of everything excepting 5 across - what do I know about ramayana.Suji is surely the winner .

Note!- it's not possible if it was kamban

A few of them can have spelling variations. But we can live with that in this kind of crossword puzzles.

Got 11 across, perhaps the clue can also be something like "A friendly mountain range is an ideal place for neraval". ;)

For 15 across "divine tongue facing the short bull", extrapolated it with the first alphabet and the rAga, though not sure if I am right. :|

For 5 across(4-6), I am still stumped wiht "different ramayanas with valmiki initial is indicated of an alien presence" clue. I am assuming different ramayanas with valmiki constitutes the first 4 with that took a wild guess with the alien presence in ramayana atleast. I am sure I am wrong here.(Suji's clues are not helping me here...)

Arun,
Sent my spam mail with answers, 5 across is point of no return I am done . Brilliant !!! :)

Suji,
YOu helped me in two for sure.

For 5 Across: think of a famous Tyagaraja kriti in Sankarabharanam - can help somewhat.

For 4 Down (the now famous Ms Piggy!): those from Mumbai and Pune may have an easier time with this! --- I do feel Arun's clue is not 100% correct though.

kutch yes!!. I left cryptic answers in Arun's blog yesterday

the six letters translates to "Note" I meant it is not possible if you used kamban's initial instead of valmiki's

Clue for "miss" is fine with me

I still dont get kamban connection, perhaps once when the crossword master gives the answer, we all can get our clues explained. In any case arun has given me the answer by personal mail.
Suji Ram wrote: Clue for "miss" is fine with me
you must have meant clue for "mrs" is fine for all , "miss" is not fine I guess, as only mrs translates correctly. That is why arun was smart by just stating "ms" ;)

yep! mrs can lead to Smt :)

Rajesh, focus on alien presence. It is one of those unscrambling clues and take "note" of my clue. (oops you already got answers from Arun then)

I could not get RT's sankarabharanam connection for this one : ) too cryptic!?

This puzzle was the most exciting one! Very cleverly done.

And amidst swine flu outbreak Ms Piggy -the Sow, topped it all!

Also enjoyed spilling out cryptic clues to folks from my side.

I was referring to 'Swara-raga sudha' in S'bharanam (well, it should be 'Svara-raga' of course!).
Anyway, the answers are out now!

I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle

Wanted time to solve and yet could not wait for the answers !

Could not solve all :( But cracked the Ms.Piggie using only the 2nd part of the clue.

Arun,

10 A - How did you pick only S from South ? What was the clue to that ?

Need some more training :) on crossword clues to do better

10 A - We often say, for example, S. Arcot for South Arcot.

Similarly for South Agra, I think.

Yes as r-t says S for south, N for north etc. are common abbreviations (this is also more apparent e.g. if you are in US, where directions like this are extremely common in the names of the streets/roads/highways themselves)
