COOLJI. The first song that comes to my mind is the lovely 'do sitaron ki zamin par hai milan ,aajki raat ' from Kohinoor, by Lataand Rafi, my mumbai (bangali)chokra, kor pyar ko nomoshkaram by OPNAYYAR .I will ask mami to close the gas connection for 2 days. I t was a very nice gesture of VIJAY to inform me personally immediately after the betrothal.. WISHING HIM ALL THE BEST. MUST HAVE STARTED SWEET DREAMING ABOUT4/6. gobilalitha
Nick,
I did not imply anything deeper than what I said--knowing that the song happens to ibe part of your CM vocal repertoire Now I realize that it is just as apt for you to hum in West Mambalam as you would be lost: you Rama of the beautiful smile, can you abandon me thus when I am lost, feel miserable?!
That's a pity, Arasi... I thought you were giving me the key to achieve enlightenment!
An American visitor, after listening to my wife's explantation of pronouncing Chennai place names, and hearing some examples where the stress fell in an unexpected place, informed us that she was, later, visiting West Mabaaalam. It's a good thing she wasn't going to Old Washermanpet.
Heartfelt thanks once again for all your wishes. It would be great to host rasikas members. Please send me a forum mail if you would be able to attend.
It is my pleasure, coolji, that you made the acquaintance of this wonderful person..Co-rasikas for now, will have to sate themselves with her music which draws on the best of two worlds..And it is rather like her murabba; not cloyingly sweet; but with a judicious meld of the six tastes - ShaD-rasa..
Cool,
So looking forward to the vaduvai (tamizh for maduve) reports and pics! vINA gAnam too.
Enjoy the day and do carry a load of our good wishes on the bus with you.
You can also eat that extra sweet on our behalf...
Pity I will have to miss this lovely gathering. All the best and Congratulations Vijay and Suniti. And cool -- look forward to the concert reports / uploads if that's permitted.
