Smt Soumya (Vocal), Shri RK Shriram Kumar (violin), Shri Neyveli Narayanan (Mridangam)

Sami Daya Juda - Kedara Goula Varnam (S)
Varalandu - Gurjari - Thyagaraja (S)
Himachala Tanaya - Ananda Bhairavi - Shyama Shastri (AS)
Maakelara Vicharamu - Ravichandrika - Thyagaraja
Kantimatim - Kalyani - Subbarama Dikshitar
Mayuranatham - Dhanyasi - Muthuswami Dikshitar (AS)
RTP - Bhairavi - Adi
Ini Enna Pechirukku - Sahana
Chinnanchiru Kiliye - Ragamalika - Subrahmanya Bharati
Paiyyada - Nadanamakriya - Kshetrayya
Smarasundaranguni - Paras - Dharmapuri Subbarayar
Kavadi Chindu
Thillana - Behag
Mangalam

Somehow felt Soumya was a bit off-colour in this concert, the renditions
of Bhairavi and Dhanyasi in particular felt a little jaded and long drawn out. The
grand Dhanammal school pieces - Kantimatim, the Nadanamakriya padam, and
the Paras javali were easily the highlight of the concert. Interestingly, Soumya sang
the opening lines of Chinnan Chiru Kiliye in both Kapi (in which it is popularly
sung) and in a folkish, Huseni-like Bhairavi (in which it was originally set by Bharatiar).

Shriram Kumar followed like a shadow on the violin as always and Neyveli Sir
played an enjoyable thani for the pallavi.

As arvindt noted the pieces from Dhanammal school were a real treat.. the anandha-bhairavi piece (himachala) was well rendered.. there was a madhuvanthi-ish piece (probably in the language kannada) towards the end..

Both himachala tanaya and Varalandhu are specialties of Dr. S. Ramanathan. It is nice to see her bring elements of his repertoire along with the Dhanammal school pieces in the same concert.

Dhanyasi, was the kannada languagepiece "narajanma bandAge" by any chance? If so, it is actually in Dharmavati but has hints of madhuvanti in it.

The kannaDa piece was "kANDe nA kanasinalli", a purandaradAsa composition. I suspect the rAga she rendered it in, was actually chandrakauns.
An earlier review of Soumya's concert in Delaware by CM-fan seems to bear me out on this, but (wrongly?) credits kanakadAsa as the composer :-)
