Festival dedicated to Muthuswami Dikshitar - May 10th - Bang

Hi All,

I would like to personally invite all of you to Sampradaya 2009 a unique music festival dedicated to the compositions of Muthuswami Dikshitar on the 10th of May 2009 at Gayana Samaj, Bangalore from 9 am to 9 pm.
The festival is also a celebration of the Kannada translation of the magnum opus Sangeetha Sampradaya Pradarshini
The agenda is as follows:

9 am : Inauguration
9:30 am: Nottu Swarams - by Rupa Sridhar and disciples
10 am: Group Rendition of Dikshitar's kritis by MS Sheela and disciples
11 am: Talk on the Sangeetha Sampradaya Pradarshini by V Sriram (writer and historian)
12 am: Group Rendition of Dikshitar's kritis by RK Padmanabha and disciples
1 pm: Lunch
2 pm: Group Rendition of Dikshitar's kritis by Young Musicians
3 pm: Talk on the Gamakas in the Sangeetha Sampradaya Pradarshini by Prof RS Jayalakshmi
4 pm: Group Rendition of Dikshitar's kritis by TS Sathyavathi and disciples
5 pm: Concert by Winners of Competition on Dikshitar Kritis
6 pm: Valedictory
6:30pm: Concert by TM Krishna & party

The festival would be showcasing around thirty different compositions of Muthuswami Dikshitar with not a single repetition throughout the day.
This includes several rare kritis that would be featured through the various group concerts.

Entry is free and rasikas, students and connoisseurs are welcome to attend and make this program a grand success!!!!

Sounds like a great day. Hope we get to hear recordings (audio/video) of the kritis sung at this event.
