How to convert vinyl tapes to mp3?

Hi everyone.

I've a mp3 recorder (pistonsoft) with me. I want to know how to convert the vinyl audio tapes into mp3 files. Can anyone help, please?

I think you mean magnetic audio cassettes not vinyl records but in any case take a look at

I suppose this topic has been discussed before. It may be worth repeating that the philips cassette to mp3 converter is very good and I have digitised dozens of old cassettes (some of the 30 to 40 years old). It works on 220-240 or 110-115 v and the cost of the set in Bangalore was about Rs. 4500. Note that it can also rip cds and has FM radio and you can of course play from mp3, cd and cassette recordings.

On the other hand, a cable connecting one's hifi, or existing tape player, to one's computer is probably about 5 or 10% of that price --- and all one really needs apart from the software.

The model No. of the philips is AZ 1856. The Audio outputs from CD ,CASSETTE.FM Radio are converted into mp3 directly and stored in the USB stick attached to the recorder [The USB STICK may be given along with the Tape recorder purchase]. In case this is not given free of cost. you can buy a 8 GB stick for Rs.450/= to Rs. 500/=.

This tape recorder is very much useful for transferring Audio from Cssette or Audio CD TO MP3 format directly.

True, the price is higher but the quality of transfer using the connecting cable is poorer. Needless to state that if the tape quality itself is bad nothing can be done with this recorder. Also note that you are not paying only for the conversion of the analog to digital, it is a four in one instrument.
