Trichy Ramesh Concert Review - Ganapathi Satchitananda Group

Trichy Ramesh's concert was organized in Chicago by Shri Ganapathi Satchidananda Group on May 4, 2009 at Chicago.
It was a tough concert. I am not sure if the organizers asked for songs specific to the Guru Datta Mission or the artist chose those as this concert was organized by them. I am providing the list of songs below. Learned Rasikas in the forum, please feel free to correct the name, ragam, talam, composer etc as except for one or two songs composed by the trinity, I did not know many songs sung by the artist. He was ably supported by Sandeep Bharadwaj on the Violin and Ravi Subramaniam on the Mridangam. The concert was very well attended even though it was a Monday. Until this concert, I had no idea that Shri Satchidananda also composed songs suited for carnatic music. I was under the impression that there might be some specific bhajans related to this saint as is for others like Sai Baba etc.

I think all the songs where I did not mention the name of the composer were composed by Shri Satchidananda. In some songs I could hear the mudra Sachitananda, but I am not very sure. Please feel free to update the same.

Overall a good concert. Will upload the photo and some videos when I get some time.

Datta peetham people organised Keerthanothsavam in MAdras Asramam year 2007 and this 2008. The 2007 year's concerts consisted of Sri O S Thyagarajan,Sri Neyevli Santhanagopalan,Sri Maharajapuram Ramachandran,Malladi brothers,Sri P Unmnikrishnan and Smt Sangeetha Shivakumar. All these concerts were released as an album called Keerthanothsavam-2007 I got it from hyderabad branch. I like swamiji's songs when sung in the Carnatic style rather than the regular bhajan style.In 2008 i remember that Nithyasree and hyderabad sisters sang. I did nt attend the concerts but i came to know the song lists.
The ragas he composes in are pretty uncommon. There are songs in Suthradhaari,Savithri,Gowri,Lathanthapriya,Shadvidhamargini,Narthaki,Kalakanthadhwani, and so on. I just love them. There are a set of Navavarna krithis also composed by Sri Swamiji, even those were released as albums "Tripura Vaibhavam" in which each song was sung by famous carnatic musicians
The dhyana krithi is in Shanmukhapriya sung by Sri BMK, First avaranam is in Naata sung by Sri MAdurai G S Mani. Second is in Kharaharapriya by Nithyasree,Third in Kaanada by Sowmya, Fourth in Narthaki by Rajkumar bharathgi, 5th in janaranjani by TMK,6th in Lathangi by Sangeetha shivakumar,7th in Nalinakanthi by Unnikrishnan,8th in janjhooti by OST and las tavaranam in Brindavani by Charumathi ramachandran and subhasree ramachandran. The mangalam is in Reethigolwa again by BMK and lullaby is in madhyamavathy by Chinmaya sisters. This way swamiji's compositions are very pleasing to me. I heard the song Kamakshi in thodi and also indu mukha govinda, both are awesome
Many must be knowing that this swamiji conducts healing music concerts, his website holds a recording of simhendramadhyamam which is worth listening,

After the concert I was talking to some people there. They say that having carnatic music concerts is an annual event and starts around Jan 16/17 every year in chennai.
