Since the name immediately followed Balasaraswathi in Ruhi's list, my guess is she is referring to the famous dance maestro Uday Shankar....he was also the brother of sitar maestro pandit Ravi Shankar. There is tons of material on Uday Shankar on the internet & I guess many books have been written on him.
Kalki had written about an instance when Uday Shankar had sponsored a private dance program by Balasaraswathi spending just a few hundreds & and how in his opinion Uday would profit by a few lakhs using the ideas learnt. One of these days I will post a translation of that article in the Kalki thread.
