Here are the lyrics which I transcribed from a recording and then verified with Vedavalli Amma. Please correct typos / transliteration / transcription errors. Looking forward to Ravi's translation of this lovely song.

Personally, I am increasingly leaning towards sanskrit oriented words sung as they sound in tamizh. The flow is there too this way. I know it is hard for non-tamizh speakers to agree with this.

Thank you for introducing me to this powerfully moving and horripilation-inducing composition of Smt. Ambujam Krishna. I think my translation is very tame and pale compared to the tsunami-like emotions the original verses invoke. If I can improve on this I will try, but do not hold your breath.

[2] Melting of the heart is a very powerful metaphor - one's heart is supposed to be like butter - the white representing the purity, and the ease with which butter melts representing how one's heart is supposed to melt with love and compassion for one's fellow-beings and the Almighty. And it is this 'butter-like' heart that the Lord covets - forming the philosophy behind the antics of the delightful mAkhan cOr of brindAvan
[3] The concept of thinking of rAmA is not explicit in the pallavi, but becomes clear in the anupallavi
[4] The composer/devotee is longing for the ultimate union - both physical and metaphysical with the Lord - the jIvAtmA merging completely with the paramAtmA

Ravi, uRaindu need not mean merging "metaphysically". There is a reference SrIvISNu purANA that the jIvAtmA is rests the thirumaru exactly like SrImahAlakShmi and the koustubham. Even svAmi dEsikan refers this in a pAsuram, "puruDan maNivaramAga ponnAmUla pirakiti...". This reference can be used here. SrImati kRSNa is talking about her being an ornament for perumAL, SrIrAman. This is like asking for nityakaimkaryam (eternal service).

I dont think my family knew the TVS group that well except for my mAmA. He was very close to the TVS family particularly SrImAn kRSNa. My father himself was employed with SrImAn T V sundaramayyangAr's grandson about 15 years or so (when I was a small kid). He has seen her at functions. My grandmom could have met her. I haven't met her personally. I have loved every bit of her bhakti through her kritis. I think I too would have enjoyed interactions with her. BTW, I'm related to the Hindu group and the Madras Music Academy group
