Ghatam Vidwan Shri Nagaraja Rao passed away

Veteran artiste Vidwan Shri Nagaraja Rao (father of ghatam artiste N.Guruprasad) passed away this morning.

Many rasikas would have heard his thani with UKS sir in SSI's concert with a pallavi in shankarAbharaNam. "chakkagAni bhajana..."

Our deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace.

Very sad to hear about this news.. deepest condolences to his family. Had the fortune of meeting him during my mrudangam arangetram in 2004 . He was present for the full concert , and at the end was very fortunate to receive his blessings . May his soul rest in peace...
