Now, THAT is a rakthi tODi. Somu sings some really beautiful gamakas with the gandharam. Thank you, Coolji!
Rasika911, have you watched the following video (one of the Alathur Bros, LGJ, PMI)?

One basic place to look for phrases is a geete - no jokingRasika911 wrote:Hi im looking for a thodi alapana with alot of rakthi phrases, can anyone guide me to a recording online or one that is availible for purchase. Thanks.
It is a wonderful geete in Todi - along with some ramble of my own: http://neelanjana.wordpress.com/2010/06 ... -big-five/

Can we also have the rest of the 'Big five" possibly by NSG?

Re: Thodi phrases
Thanks Ramakriya. I have never heard this geetham before. Sounds like a good one to learn to get a synopsis of Thodi.
It is indeed an involved one for a beginner, especially when seen next to Vara Veena. ( or popularly knows as ga ga pa pa.. !! )
It is always a delight to hear NSG appreciating CM as a rasika!!
What you say about Thodi is quite right. In another thread, where Sangeet Rasik talks about the grand unification between HM and CM, I used to wonder how Thodi kind of ragas which have evolved in their own way can be accommodated in HM. I digress, just some loud thinking.
