Well... the concert started 15 minutes late into the schedule .. thanks to the newly installed accoustics. The new acoustics are designed to produce same experience across any seat in the auditorium.. A worthy change in the venue.

This was my first time experience of Ms Vijayalaksmi Subramaniam.

Hamsadhwani Varnam was crisp and presented with elegance.

Sadachaleshwaram alapana in Bhoopalam was crisp and mature . kriti was rendered very well.

Bhairavi and Ranjani compositons had detailed alapana that was equally complimented by violin and swara prasataras...

The MSD composition in Saveri was the sub main piece.. The RTP in Vachaspathi was rendered crisp without ragamalika swaras.

The tukudas completed the 2.5 hrs concert.

It was a fitting celebration to the "WORLD MUSIC DAY"

One thing that I regretted was the publicity to the concert. A good concert lacked publicity and the word of mouth had brought in audience to fill 20 - 25% of the auditorium. Its high time that BGS does something to publicise their programs

3,4,11&13.I have not heard(of)before.Any link? I observe she has started covering /popularising GNB compositions/favourites in her concerts.6&7.In her recent concert in FM she has taken up GNB kriti Mamakuleshwaram(TSK"s favourite) -Thodi as main. welcome feature.

Good to see that 'ODi bArayya' of PD was taken up for detailed presentation. Haven't heard her in person yet. Hope I can, the coming season.
Was the RTP in vAcaspati or kalyANi? The pallavi line too, please.

Very nice list..#7 is kari kalabha mukham - face (mukham) of a very young (baby) elephant (kari kalabha) as explained by DRS elsewhere...
