Was this actually billed as bharatanATyam by the show, or is it the poster (to youtube) who figured this was bharatanATyam? Can someone who watched silsila please confirm?

Can any of the dancers confirm if the tIrmAnams he uses are part of bharatanrityam? AFAIK, it looks like kucipuDi to me from that point alone...

Is the 'rAga' rItigauLa based, at least in the initial part?

Call it "mishra nATyam' if you like. It has features of Bharatanatyam/kuchipuDi/kathak/kathakaLi/... :)
Vineeth is a well trained classical virtuaso! Yes ritigaulai appears to be the underlying raga which shows its face time to time!

He uses many caris and nrtta hastas (though I don't know if he does a complete karana anywhere), so yes, Bharata Nrityam. However, the actual adavus are largely Kuchipudi-based. I'm pretty sure the poster just billed it as Bharata Natyam.

Thanks, Umesh - that was what I thought!
