Now that the A song thread has hit a half-century mark I thought we can move on to B. Please post your favorite song that starts with B.
Try to limit your choice to one song if possible, or say up to 2-3 songs. If possible, please indicate why you like it (personal, analytical etc.). Please include raga, tala and composer info if you have it, and info on where people can listen to it - but watch out for commercial recording abuse!
Here is a (probably not fully comprehensive) listing of the krithis by Trinity (and others) which can be used to jog your memory:

I was somewhat secure in my choice but I had ignored bhAvayAmi
Anyway, it was a toss up between bAlagOpAla vs. baNTurIti vs. brOvavamma (mAnji), and I chose bAlagOpAla - too much grandeur to ignore.
Now baNTurIti is a "little krithi" in comparison but I like it a lot because (a) I like the raga (b) I simply love the imagination of T - particularly in the charanam (c) I have learnt the song. I actually wish the song is rendered about 75% the regular speed that artists do (they do it at jet speed for me) - as I think it makes one enjoy the lyrics more as well as hamsanAdam's flavor (particularly the dance between M2 and N3 in this raga - along with the contrast to R2). Also, I agree that it is perhaps unfortunately relegated as a "starter song" taught to little kids for their first "performance" - and yes there are misinterpretations too.
As I said it was hard to move this to #2 - Maybe it is #1.00000001
bhAvayAmi by MSS - yes love it too.

Well, my favourite is the all-time favourite, all-time popular, all-time melodious and all-time heard 'bhAvayAmi gOpAlabAlam' in yamunAkalyAni. My favourite version is that of the Legend of Legends, Queen of CM, the unmatchable and unparalleled Smt.M.S.Subbulakshmi. This is my most favourite. All other songs have to occupy secondary positions!! =)

Arun this one is tougher than the 'a'...
Once again, I have to exercise my splitting (as opposed to lumping) skills:
'b':
1) bArO namma manege - rAgamAlikA - purandara dAsaru - Smt. MLV's rendition (preceded by a lovely ugabhOga, 'Aneyu karedarE') - when our child was born, we were not sure of the baby's sex, and had chosen 2 songs to play during the birth - this one for a boy, and Smt. MSS' bhAgyada lakshmi bArammA for a girl - in the confusion, we ended up playing the tape with bhAgyada laskhmi - luckily, we had a girl!!
2) brovavammA bangAru bomma - nIlAmbari - SS - this composition gives me the langurous beauty of nIlAmbarI in all its glory....
3) bEkasi had se jab nikal jAyE - dES
4) brOcEvAr(u)evarurA - khamAs - MV
4) bOlErE papIharA - miyAn kI malhAr
5) baiyyAn nA dharO - cArukESi
'bh':
1) bhAvayAmi raghurAman - rAgamAlikA - ST - I absolutely love Smt. MSS' vintage rendition, and Smt. Gayathri Girish's more recent one
2) bhAvayAmi gOpAlabAlam - yamunakalyANi - Annamacharya
3) bhavAnI dayAnI - ? kOmal rishabh asAvErI - This has to be Smt. Parveen Sultana's version...I can hear it all the time!

Yes bilahari, I also vote for brOvavamma-a kvn rendering at that-
esp when he sings sthiramani nammithi nammithi.
bhajarE rE mAnasa abheri-DKJ/DKP- htiers was the first rendering I heard when I was very young and I manage to write down the whole song lstening to them.
bhajarE rE citta-kalyani

Since Ravi has opened the choice for film songsalso, I consider BABUL MORA BY K L Saigal as the best. it will continue to do so even after 100 or more years .Brushing up my memory I will come back with more songs. Since the next subject will be songs beginning with C, I will vote for 'chain ko hum ko kabi' and 'chotasa balma ', both byAsha, music bywho else OPNayyar.
Will it not bea good suggestion to have seperate threads for fimi and non fimi songS?GOBILALITHA

There are so many to choose all are equally good and satisfying but the first ones to come to my mind are
Bantureeti - sung beautifully by BMK (accompanied by one of his disciples perhaps )
Bhavanuta - sung with so much of passion and bhavam by Sri Nedunuri
Bhoga chaya nataka priye
Then last but not the least is - brahma kadigina paadamu

My top B favourite is BhajarE rE citta. I first heard this song in KJY's voice (must be 20+ years ago!) and I still prefer KJY's version a lot.
My other favourites in B:
1. Brochevarevarura - the song I have sung most in my long bathroom singing career - the filmy version (Shankarabharanam) though
2. Bruhi Mukundeti
3. Brova Baarama
