Oh there is nothing much there except stating that the awards were presented by the President. Anyway here you go:

Award for Mridangam Artiste Eswaran

New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil honoured artistes including Mridangam Maestro Eswaran by presenting them Sangeet Natak Academy (SNA) awards. Artistes who excel in the fields of Music, Dance and Drama are honoured with awards every year. Last year's SNA awards were presneted in New Delhi yesterday. President Pratibha Patil honoured the artistses by presenting the awards.

From Tamil Nadu, Mridangam vidwan Eswaran, Bharatanatyam exponent Saroja Vaidyanathan, Koochupudi artistes Vasantalakshmi and Narasimhachari (jointly) and renowned theater personality Ramanujam were presented with the SNA awards. Overall thirty three artistes fom the country including Hindustani musician Bhupen Hazarika were presented the awards. The award includes Rs 50,000 cash, an angavastram and a copper scroll. Music composer Bhupen Hazarika and famous danseuse Sitara Devi were among the thirty four(!) people presented with the awards yesterday.

in parimalaranganatham, there is a part in the charanam which goes like this:
parameshvaram rameshvaram meshvaram easwaram

similarly, in praise of easwaran sir,
Parameshwaram mrudangeshwaram ruthameshwaram(rythmeshvaram) easwaram

My dear Rasika Friends

I am extremely happy and thankful to all of you for your wonderful messages. Your messages are indeed very touching.

It was a priviledge to receive the award from the Hon. President of the Country. It is only by the grace of god and my parents that I have been bestowed with this recognition by the Government of India.

I am also thankful to all my gurus and all stalwarts, without whose guidance I would not have been able to acheive whatever little I have done till date.

Once again, I would like to thank each one of you for your kind wishes.
