I unfortunately had to leave after the thani. However, the kutcheri was thoroughly enjoyable the highlights, for me, being the alapanai for Sukhi Evvaro and Padmaavathi Ramanam. Saketha Nikethana was delivered with a powerful punch and a few albeit sprightly swarams at the end. The violin responses were excellent as usual and the mridangam and kanjira aptly supported the music. Looking forward to hearing more of Sri Saketharaman in the future.

ive never heard of any one named suresh kumar that plays the kanjira.......however it may be/most likely is Ganesh Kumar......last time i saw him he had curly hair that was fairly long

It was organized by Sattur sisters in remembrance of their father Sri.Sathur AGS. The inaugural address was given by Sri.Sirgazhi Jayaraman, this year’s recipient of Kalaimamani Award and also a disciple of Sri.Satur AGS. The concert started exactly at 6 PM, unusual to Chennai Sabha Culture!.

First time, I was listening to live concert of Saketharaman. No Action scenes using his face or fist (!), while singing. Composed and being a student of LGJ school, he has excellent swara pattern and few times, Akkarai stumbled on repeating his swarams. Raga alapana of Purvikalyani and kanada need more "Azuttham"
