Hi hari.. a recording by any chance?? atleast the thani part?? cos i have heard guru prasanna last season with sankaran sir at bharath kalachar and he played amazingly..So in my guess , the thani should have been a cracking one as always.

Thanks for the song list and should have been a wonderful concert.

Arvind..

It is nice to know you attended the katcheri, it is sad that I am part of this forum, and cant recognise the other members who attend the katcheri.

The thani was great, Prasanna played very well and Umalyalpuram needs no mention.

The entire concert was paced very well and enjoyable. I am happy not to have missed it. Saket is indeed a promising new gen talent :)

One did notice a huge improvement in Saket. He was singing more full-throated. Also - the swaraprastharas were of the tallest order.

For me the highlight (many) of the concerts were 1. swara prasthara in siddhi vinayakam 2. devagandhari krithi vinarada 3. Purvikalyani alapana and the way he completed the song with a emotional highpitched 'Yadgopi' 4. Kamboji alapana is particularly great, neraval/swaram were impressive. I had to leave after that. As he started with my personal fav begada and I was thinking he might have done a begada RTP. I think probably the speeches didnot allow.

As a first timer at this sabha (not sure) , he proved his vidwat. The raga/song selections were good considering he is an youngster and definitely a variety instead of delivering the usual popular songs.
I really enjoyed the concert.

Thanks to the Sabha for choosing younsters like saketaraman this year, and i hope prassanna venkatraman, sandeep narayan also get invited next year.

Not really. Last year, he was the last minute replacement for TNS. He was accompanied by M Chandrasekharan and K V Prasad ( who were to play for TNS).
