Personally hearing shri OST after a long gap ,it was certainly very good concert rich in classicism. Late by few minutes Shri OST sang an excellent swaras in kedAram. His next no in atAna was brilliant reminding madurai mani and sarvalaghu touches in nArada gAna lOlA was perfect makes me always go gA gA :) . THe submain poorvikalyAni alApanai and krithi was rendered excellently by OST , personally was nice to hear this kAranam kEttu vAdi after a long time. Perhaps he could have gone more with swaras there.

He has bit too fast in the next devagAndhAri , perhaps if it had been little more faster may be devagAndhari could have gone into arAbi land. The pick of the day was his aesthetic rendition of kApi , that too his start in anupallavi line in the kApi krithi in the lines "vArini kEtina vara bhadrachala " and looping back in the pallavi gave a lot of insight of OST's vidwat in kApi. There were atleast 3 phrases in the krithi where he sang a mini-neraval like rendition was brilliant.

The next was a fast no could not listen it fully, assuming it was gnb's sudha madhurya and not thyagarAjar's sudhA madhurya krithi. The main in madhyamAvati was a mixed bag ,certainly the rendtion of the krithi and rAga alApana stood out more than the neraval and swaras which were just ok.

The ArabimANam rAgamAliga with reverse looping cittaswaras was rendered excellently perhaps I lost few lines as his diction was not perfect there. Shriranjani krithi of Sivan's was just good. Incidentally OST wanted to wind up the concert in two hours , a request of viruththam stretched his concert by another 15 minutes . The nAdanAmakriya slOkham was excellently rendered topped with a brilliant bhajana sampradAya NT's krithi.

It was also nice to hear Delhi SundarrAjan's violin after few years of his hibrernation. His usual spark in returns were good , but his madhyamAvati alApanai did not have much weight in bowing. I discovered for the first time an excellent mridangist K.Harish (Can some one throw more light on k.harish). His play was resembling lot of srimushnam strokes was brilliant and had lot of fast and dazzling strokes . He was ably supported by Hariharasubramaniam??? in ghAtam. However their tani was bit lowkey .

The only disappointment was the kutcheri was for just 2 hours plus, that too persuading OST to sing another slOkham /viruththam was bit of dampener. Looks like OST did curtail the kutcheri as possibly he must have felt forhis sabha this 2 hours plus would do? On a sunday evening concert ending in 2 hours 15 minutes is too disappointing. :/

A very good violinist, indeed. Have heard him play for TVS several times and for others too. Did he not venture into becoming a vocalist recently?

The thani played by Harish was something confounding. Can any expert who watched his thani can throw light on his performance.Delhi Sundarrajan was not in his flamboyant element.

Great to see Delhi Sunderrajan back. Hope I get to hear him play in a few concerts this season. Have heard a few commercial recordings where he plays for TNS - especially the one where the latter sings a Bhairavi-Sindubhairavi RTP and the responses by Sunderrajan are really good.

Ratnam...please give a bit of time for Delhi S to warm up.....that much support he certainly deserves having gone thru a horror of an accident which threatened to snuff out his profession. The fact that he is back throws light on his mental strength to fight the odds and come up again. I am sure, in my mind, he will be back to his usual best soon!!
