Dr ganesh sometimes many call him maharAjapuram Dr ganesh is possibly the best sishyA of santhAnam coming not in the birth lineage but more of acquired lineage.
Pluses of the concert:
--------------------
1. The alApana of kharaharapriyA was very well done and shivan's song was rendered very close to how santhAnam renders.
2. The best number was his paNtuvarAli number , the symmetry in swara patterns gives an adequate push for the vocalist to sing fast swara prasthAnam
3. In tukkadAs the best number that he rendered was karunai pOzhiyum kangaL in hamsAnandi (santhanam has taken this number with great aesthetic touch) , a number composed describing maha chandarasekara swami , he being an intense devotee just brought the same devotion to perhaps all the listeners , definitely I was very moved.
4.THe kamAs alApana and MD's krithi was rendered with the right thrust.
5. The percussion department did a fine job, the suresh of madipakkam was driving at constant sarvalaghu rhythm , did help in almost all songs . THe murali of trichy had more knotty laya exposition , he did an excellent job.
Shortcomings of the concert:

1. I always believe the seperation of submain and main has to be adequately placed , perhaps that was the reason why Ariya/semman gudi and all greats take paNtuvarAli as a submain in no 2 or 3 and then pace after that a main in number 6. He lost a lot of vocal staminA and the casualty was the neraval "kannA kannA" in kharaharapriyA which he could not render it.
2. kedAragowlai needs more voice assertion that was kind of missing and bEgaDa was mediocre.
3. Since he got karunai pOzhiyum kaNgaL emote almost close to mellifluous santhAnam , I was expecting the same in the thillAnA and more importantly the melting melodious tuNgA teera vihAram , both the rAgas could have been sung with more feel.
4. Tani was very so so and neraval was very deficient in this concert.
5. The violinist played well , but there could have been more sweeter nAdham it was bit muffled.
Overall a good to very good concert .

Who else can correct if there is a slip in mridangham.That could be only balAji. He is only suresh and not murali. Madipakkam suresh's photograph is here.
