Oh, goddess,mInAkshi(with eyes like fish), who resides in the southern town of madurai, you alone is a companion (to me)
A: dEvAdi dEvan sundarEshan cittam kavar bhuvana sundari amba
ambA, the beautiful goddess (literally translated ,it will mean 'the beautiful one in the world) who captured the heart of the lord of the lords, sundarEsan.
C: malayadvajan mAdhavamE (mAtavamE)- the one who came as daughter to king malayadhwaja after great penance
kAncana mAlai pudalvi-the daughter of kAnchanamAlA
mahaA rAgjnya(rAgjnI)- the great queen
*malai maghaL(it should be) alaimagaL- kalai maghaL paNi kIrvANi-(rAdamudrA)
the Goddess who is bowed down to by Lakshmi(daughter of the ocean) and saraswathi(the goddess of finearts)
amudanaiya iniya muttamizh vaLartta- who nurures the nectar like tamizh in all its three aspects of iyal, isai and nATakam.
*Since dEVi mInAkshi Herself is goddess pArvati, the term malaimagaL will not be correct here.
