Most of the schedule for Academy is already fixed by which I mean the slots for main artistes are already fixed. May be the accompanists may not have been fixed which I doubt. For example,
I know my guru is playing on Dec. 18th morning at the Academy and I know that Sattur sisters
have a evening slot but I dont remember the date etc.

most front-line sabhas must have a tentative schedule fixed and even second-rung sabhas should be getting geared up and ready with their schedules..
i m told the academy is almost done with their schedules. And am also told that there are quite a few surprises and many promotions too. i do know some names, but let me not spell them out till things are officially announced.

Shashank's December schedule is on his web site as well.
This (and TMK's schedule) tells me that the sabha schedules are in fact complete (or nearly so) - why don't the sabhas release this information now rather than at the last minute?

I am sure it is possible to attend a few programs. Where there's a will there's a way.hnbhagavan wrote:HNBhagavan of Bangalore
Is it possible to attend a few programs at Chennai during the December season?
Whether it is possible to purchase daily ticket at the counter?
I request forum members to respond

Yes, If not a sold out concert, you can definitely get tickets at the counter on the day of the concert.
Hope this helps.

As far as I know, tickets are available at the counter everyday at most of the sabhas. Only a few high priced reserved tickets and all season tickets are sold ahead of time. Tickets may be sold out fast at the counter for very popular ( not necessarily the best !) artsits' programs; hence early arrival should help in such cases. This was my experience the last time I was in Indfia a few years ago.

hnbhagavan, there are many day-time performances, and more than a few evening ones, where you will find that your attendance has added a substantial percentage to the audience numbers. There are a few big names that fill every seat, and there are a few venues that tend to be full to overflowing. Out of the free ones, there are a few that you need to attend the afternoon concert to keep your seat for the evening!
Do not worry; even if you see some artists you haven't heard of before, you will certainly be able to immerse yourself in live music any time during the Season

Mr. H N Bhagavan,
I am also from Bangalore. From past 3 years I visit Chennai during December to attend some of the programmes. Daily tickets are being sold at music Academy which I normally prefer on the day of the concert. For some top artistes people queue up as early as morning 4, to get tickets. Last year I managed to get Dias ticket to hear Smt Aruna Sairam and Mr. T M Krishna. Off course though getting tickets is difficult , the atmosphere and enjoyment is great. Try this year. Some of the Sabhas I was told that they issue daily tickets in advance.
