Gopal Ravindhran, a 13 year boy from Bay area, had his debut concert on Aug 30th 2009 accompany

Vidwan Sri Delhi P Sunder Rajan on Vocal

Vidwan Sri Vittal Ramamurthy on Violin

Vidwan Sri A Mahadevan on Morsing

Gopal, a disciple of Sri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan ( who is a disciple of Vidwan Sri Neyveli Narayanan), performed in front of a packed audience which included Sri Neyveli Narayanan and other senior and leading Bay area musicians and teachers. Gopal's flawless rendition right from Varnam to thillana was very impressive. His thani avarthanam for Yendhuku Peddala along with Sri Mahadevan was impressive too.

Sri Sunder Rajan who has always impressed the bay area musicians on violin now kept the audience spellbound by his vocal rendition. Sri Vittal Ramamurthy was asusual superb on violin. Sri Mahadevan's support on Morsing added a very pleasant flavor to the whole concert and complimented Gopal well.

Gopal has been learning mrudangam for the past 7 years under Sri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan.

Yes, I attended and it was superb. Sunderrajan vocal was excellent. I would have liked crowd to stay till the end, the talk by parents and the school, teacher was too long before last 2 songs. They could have kept talks crisp and to the point and let mrudangam show the prowess. Most of aranegtrams in bay area bore us to death with the speeches in otherwise excellent dance, vocal and mrudangam performances. My point is when all matter is present in brochure why repeat everything.
