A RARE VISUAL TREAT
The GURU VANDANAM program at Youth Hostel, Indira Nagar, Adyar on the auspicious Saraswathi Pooja Day, the 27th of September 2009 went off very well. Braving heavy rains nine senior musicians adorned the dais with their presence. It was indeed a memorable event and the function sent a distinct message to the students of the music fraternity about the relevance of guru bhakti and the guru sishya parampara system of learning. The function started with lighting of kuthuvillakku by the stalwarts present followed by an invocation by Keerthana & Sruthi Sagar, disciples of Kalaimamani Dr.Sunder, the Convenor of Music Forum. Soon followed the welcome address by Dr.Sunder and honoring of the Acharyas with a purse of rupees five thousand each and a plaque. The intended message of "guru bhakti"

thanks for the nice write up and a beautiful photo. A 'well-thought about' programme, honouring the gurus. All the more heartening to note that the emphasis is on bringing the youth into the scene. The blessings of all the gurus and their GURUS will be surely there for all the youngsters. On this occasion, I offer my own pranams and salutations to all my gurus.
