Hi
I am keenly interested to know the history,Origin & Essence of Nattuvangam & Nattuvanar. Moreover
Is there anyone who teaches the exact rules & regulations of Nattuvangam. i think in the early periods
there existed persons who were only sticked to Nattuvangam Performances. What is the difference
between konnakkol & jathis in Dance. Please help me... an attached files of audio/Video of
nattuvangam Classes will be a very good source as per me.

konnakOL is recitation of the jati's in mrudangam playing, and full-bench music concerts of the yore included konnakOL as one of the rhythm supports (in addition to the mrudangam, ghaTam and mohrsing). A naTTuvanAr, who was present only in dance concerts, in addition to reciting the jatis, wields the cymbals, with 'light' and 'heavy' strokes that are reflected in the force of the dancer's footwork.
