Bangalore S Shankar’s house concert in Detroit area, October 24th, 2009.
This is not a concert review! Just a summary report of the event!
Sri. Shankar was accompanied by Detroit based eminent artistes Srikanth Mallajosyula (violin) and Indiresh Maktal (mRdanga).
In the first half of the concert, we were mesmerized with elaborate rAgAlApana, nereval and swaras in pure classical mould that Sri. Shankar is known for. In the second half, we were delighted with Sri. Shankar’s rich repertoire of dAsara padas.
Sri. Shankar complimented the accompanists for their high caliber of music, and the perfect way in which the team had blended together. This is noteworthy due to the fact that this is the first time that they were performing as a team..
