Accompaniments : Akkarai Subbulakshmi,B.Sivaraman & Anirudh Athreya
I was late by ~ 15 mins.
I started listening from
Sankarinive - Begada
Vidulaku Mrokkade - Mayamalavagowlai (R,S)
Bantureethi - Hamsanadam
Akshayalingavibho - Sankarabharanam (R,N,S,T)
Neematala - Poorvikalyani (Javali)
Irakkam varamal - Behag
The artist was in good form and it showed in her singing.
Both Mayamalagowlai & Sankarabharanam were sung unhurriedly and built in beautiful phrases. She stayed in each sthayi comfortably and then switched on to the next. She is always methodical and well planned and that was reflected in whatever she sang.
The artist deserves special praise for her selction of MMG as submain.
Akkarai played her role correctly. Her reply of MMG was good and Sankarabharanam surprisingly was average.
BS & Anirudh did their roles adequately.
A very good concert on the whole.

She started with a Sarasangi adi tala varnam which was followed by Bhuvinidasu in Sriranjani.
Mayamalavagowlai alapana was excellent and specially tailored to the uncommon kriti that followed, instead of rattling off all the phrases associated with the raga borrowed from all kritis. Sankarabharanam was both leisurely and majestic and lifted the concert feng shui. Felt a small let down in the thukkada section as it was kind of short.
