Concert notes - personal thoughts only, please do not try to debate any comments below.

Overall it was a very entertaining and delightful concert. Suryaprakash appears to be shifting away from the style and content of his guru, which can be very postivie in the mid-to long term. This is not in anyway a negative comment on Shri TVS, just to state he appears to be making a sincere attempt at his own legacy. Lack of a Deekshitar kriti was noticeable. Strong voice culture is evident all through. Our audience gave us a very positive feedback after the concert. Support on the violin and mridangam was excellent and the exchanges between them were very lively and entertaining.

In 2007-bharat sangeet utsav which I did not attend suryaprakash sang the same pallavi (I have the commercial recording of carnatica of the same , it is lovely). This pallavi swaras are very special , vishnuramprasad has described this swara sequence beautifully in his review http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php? ... sabha.html. I am assuming the same was done, you can confirm it naaree.

Yes. That is exactly what he did. Except no elaboration for the dhaivatham, since Revathi does not have the da.

I haven't heard Suryaprakash sing AbhOgi either. Any neraval or svarams there?
