Ramanathan,
What a rich fare it promises to be! Wish I were there.
Ravikiran and Anil, TMK and Sangeetha singing together, Sowmya and NSG on the vINA. Many younger artistes being accompanied by seniors!
Hope that many rasikAs hasten to hear the best, innovative and some interesting combination of musicians, savor it all and support the events.
All the best, organizer(s) :)

As usual the line up is impressive . I have been coming for the last few years for this utsav, holding it in narada ghana sabha is fine and best . But however the sound settings in this sabha is always not consistent , you may have to specifically work on this. Incidentally I am also happy to see madras string quartet there.

Agree with rajeshnat. There were issues with the sound system last time, in terms of inconsistent output etc.
Looking forward to the show!

Is it a duet concert...or is she giving vocal support. How old would she be?

It will be a duet concert. I think Lavanya is about 20 years old.

The organisers are quite innovative; really appreciate their efforts in taking CM to the masses. The place to be in now,is CHENNAI.

"The place to be in now,is CHENNAI".

This is the first time in my life when I would be able to attend the concerts during the december music season in Chennai this year. I hope to attend atleast a few concerts and enjoy the divine music.

I attended a concert yesterday and I was surprised by the excellent quality of the audio - definitely very professional and none of the proverbial Madras sabha ear shatterting decibel levels.

One amazing concert that I already missed is that of Venkatesh Kumar. One must thank Coolkarni for being an evangelist for this superb artist.

Now it sucks that I have to leave town tomorrow missing all other concerts.

Added bonus: Ram or Shashikiran's introductions and speeches before and after concerts are short and sweet.

Thanks for the compliments, Uday! :) I must echo your word of appreciation to Coolji... Venkatesh Kumar's was a mind-blowing concert. I was bowled by his vocal power and range.

Re: audio system, we must thank our friends Subhasree, Manimaran & Sivakumar at Maximum Media (of Jaya TV Margazhi Maha Utsavam fame) as well as my sound engineer friend Mr. Venkatesan (of Madhuranadam Trust).

@bilahari, re: TNK Mama's concert - that priceless opening moment when the bow touched the strings and produced the first notes of Bhairavi was worth all the hassles and headaches of putting together this event. Of course Mama went on to give us a sumptuous feast comprising Ravichandrika, Kharaharapriya, Sankarabharanam and his trademark Surutti, but I'll always cherish that magical opening moment :)

In the second album marked bsu09, I see there are so many photos almost every artist is taken so many photographs ,reminds me of the antha kAlathu marriage photos where you see in every page so many overlapping photographs. In any case photos look nice .

I was also searching the 7th row audience of your residency hotel inaugural concert , could not find any snake charmers or cow boys there ;)
