Thanks to all of you for your support. This is not just my effort but a collective one by a group of us in bringing out this website exclusively for the december season.
@ Kedharam - Haha! thanks! Season is our target but we're also looking to maybe expand it after the season.
@ Punarvasu, bilahari, prashant - Thanks so much for your appreciation and support. We are still bringing in some changes, adding a few schedules and tweaking it a bit... please let me know if you find any bugs... Thanks all for your support

While you are at it could you also fix the photograph of Ms Harini Ramakrishnan on the YACM home page?

Rithvik:
I have a few suggestions for you.
1) In the main schedule page and search results page, under location, make the name of the sabha a clickable link, like you have done for the physical location. For example, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan will point to http://www.thedecemberseason.com/schedu ... =10&vid=10
2) Have a Search button at the main page at the same level as Home, Schedule, Venues, Dining & Lodging, About. You already have the search feature under Schedules but it will be good to put it at the Home page since people expect it to be there.
3) Can you look into creating a column for each concert for review links for that concert? You can update them over time. The links can include links to newspaper reviews like Hindu and website reviews like rasikas.org . Keep space for 3 or 4 links along with a 'more' button if there are more review links.

Here's a constructive criticism...
Have you tried printing off lists of schedules. For a start, one gets an almost blank page which is the basic page frame (I don't use this as a technical term, and if that is what it is then it is happy coincidence: I do not speak html!). Sites that do this a really annoying!
I may be asking a bit much for this year, but could you build a "Printer-friendly view" button into the schedule displays, and anything else that is useful to quickly transfer to paper as one rushes out the door to a concert!
Do not limit your thinking to the screen view!
EDIT... Here's another one, on-screen this time...
repeat the first/previous/page number/next/last controls at the bottom of the listings pages: most of the time one wants 'next', that's where one will be!

Nick: I thought printfriendly.com may come in handy in the mean time ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOYKL7KY ... r_embedded ) but did not quite work nicely for me. May be you can give it a try.
Rithvik can spin some CSS magic and make it printfriendly natively.

Hi, since I plan to be in chennai next weekend for 5 days, I tried copy-pasting from the schedules given-choosing the cutcheris I would want to attend; but the last column(venue) did not get saved, in the word programme. I tried typing it in the first column; somehow all the details did not appear. I do not know how to adjust.
Anyway, it was a great help.Thanks.

First of all, great job! This is a marvelous resource. I do wish you would continue this after the season too, because it is so hard to find information about concerts if you are on a short visit to Chennai (as happened to me recently, I was on a 1 week business trip from the US)
Now to my suggestion, which will probably give many here apoplexy. From the point of view of music organizers from outside India, it would be very helpful if you can create a list of artists, along with a "score" of how many concerts they played at during the season, or atleast a list of venues/times. This will help when we are approached by a relatively unknown (to us, due to our ignorance!) artist; By using this score, we defer judgement to the far more knowledgeable folk in charge of arranging events at these sabhas. This can be done after the season, if you wish.
If you feel queazy about creating such a score, note that (1) this is probably done informally by those in the "know" anyway and (2) now that you've shown the way, others will probably come up with similar sites and similar ideas next year; and as the first one to do this seriously, this will be your chance to mark this as your own (the DecemberSeasonCom score or DSC score)!
Once again, this is obviously not a judgement of the artists by you, but an aggregate of the judgements of many music sabhas; and not necessarily of artistic talent, but of popularity at this time. And it would help discover upcoming artists faster, and get them more opportunities to perform away from Chennai.

I plan to be in Tamil Nadu beween Jan 02 and Feb 02,2010 to attend a wedding in Tiruchi on Jan 21,2010. I used the information available through "Kutcheribuzz" and have "jotted" down the programs in Chennai till Jan 06,2010 and then on to Madurai for Sathguru Samajam concerts till Jan 13,2010. Thus it is possible to plan , if only for a few days, without downloading directly from the respective sites.

Very nice format for decemberseason website. Lots of useful information presented neatly - except that I'm having difficulty locating the contact numbers for the various Sabhas - you only list the contact nos of the hall not the organizer that sells tickets. Did you give a thought to how non-chennai residents can locate the ticket seller and buy tickets before coming to Chennai? I think not. If you can fulfill this requirements you will fulfill a main advantage potential of the Internet that is often overlooked. That is how to provide information that is of practical use to somebody not just casual browsers.

Hi all,
Sorry for the delay in responding to all your posts.
@ Punarvasu - I guess they are available at Nalli outlets but why would you need it when u have the same thing available online!
@ nick H - Thank you for your valuable suggestions. We are discussing them and shall bring in changes as soon as possible.
@ Vasanthakokilam - haha! hope we can come up with something where all of u can print schedules and take it along too.
@ Punarvasu - We are working on something that will facilitate your interest soon.
@ ShrutiLaya - If what you are looking for is the number of cocerts artistes have performed, if you search for their name, then the search will automatically give you the number of concerts that they have performed. If this is not it, then can you clarify? Thanks
@ Sundara Rajan - Thanks for that useful piece of information.
@ ragool - Thanks for your wishes. We shall work that out soon too. And if i'm not mistaken, some numbers are there on the organizations link. We shall update numbers of few more soon.
Thanks all for your interest.
Please keep such feedback coming in.

Hi all,
Thanks for all your suggestions...do keep them coming. We are continuing to update the features of the site and are constantly adding more schedules as we receive them. We have added a print functionality for the schedule displays on the Home and Schedule pages. This will enable you to print just the programs that are displayed on the page.
Thanks again for your support.

Well, something like that. First, if I search for an artist, I can only find the number of concerts he/she is yet to perform, not all concerts in the whole season; More importantly, the idea is to find lesser known artists who have performed this season, so one cannot be typing in the names of each artist to find this. I'm asking for a table of Artist Vs. Number of concerts, or some weighted score (music academy concert counting for more than a local concert etc.,)rithvikraja wrote:
