Hi Ganesh,
Thanks for looking into this.
I found an audio CD that is sung by P. Ramaa & tried to extract the lyrics from it. But, I don't know who is the
composer & notations. Sorry, since it's a commercial CD, I can't post the song here.
The ankitha is sadaya mangala purisha.
Here goes the lyrics in simple text.
Pallavi: Prananathana karedu thare yenna prana sakhiye pogi
Prananatha illade indu E praya yathake
pogi karedu thare
Sarasa vaaduthali virasava maadidanu
suratha sukhava thorisi hodanu kele
saarasadala nayana yelliruvano kane
besarisuvudenu bedi kombenendu
Maarana baadeya sairisalaareyo
maaramanana kaanade eralaare sakhiye
marethuhodaneno maadida sneha
mareyalaarene maanini ni pogi
niratha kusuma rasa thorisidaathanu
neerajakshi baarenutha kudidavanu kele
sari hotthaaitu sakhanu baarade
sadaya mangala purishana bittiralaare
Is the nayaka referred to here is Krishna? Any idea?
Regards,
Radhika.

Radhika,
I don't think the nayaka is Krishna, per se. Javali doesn't mention nayaka as any god. But in my humble opinion, it would not be wrong if one portrays the nayaka as a god even though it is not mentioned in the lyrics.
In javalis, usually the nayaka is not a God; he is a commoner. In Padams, nayaka is always divine. That is one of the differences between Javali and Padam as explained to me by a prominent dance teacher.
I have never heard this Javali before. I am not sure 'sadaya mangala purusha' is ankitha. It could be. I will ask around to see whether anyone knows this Kavyanaama.
Check this out: http://archive.deccanherald.com/Deccanh ... etro15.asp It says "Vidwan Vadigenahalli Vekataramana, a well known Bangalore Musician wrote a book of memoirs called Mangala Purusha". He might have this Ankitha????? Just surmising.
Thanks.
